Salt and Light

The church is to be salt and light Jesus said

Matthew 5:13-16 13“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. 14“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Are we truly living to the glory of God?

Are we truly living lives that show this hell bound world the love of Jesus?

We should be!!!!

The teachers said, “Boys here’s a watch. What is it for?” the children answered, “to tell time.” “Well,” he said, “suppose my watch does not tell time. What is it good for?” “good for nothing, sir.”

Then the teacher asked, “What is the chief end of man?” and they replied, “to glorify God.” “but suppose a man doesn't glorify God. What is he good for?” “good for nothing, sir.”

He gave His all, He died on the cross, He set us free, let’s give our all for His glory and be good for His kingdom.

Amen?

Pastor Paul

Amen. Being poured out for the Lord is not so much to ask. After all, many of us poured ourselves out in pursuit of wordly concerns like a relationship, addiction, job, education, money, etc. Some of these are more respectable than others because they are not outwardly sinful. However, I hope to now be poured out for the glory of God, and not in pursuit of things that are passing away. Thanks for the exhortation to glorify God, Pastor.
